A perfect set of apparatus to demonstrate linear expansion in a solid. The set comprises of a ball and a ring, both of which are connected to a metal road and with insulated handles at the other end. The ball is able to go through the ring easily. When the ball is heated (e.g by soaking in a hot water) , it expanded and thus is not able to go through the ring anymore.
